United States VS. Siria

Barack Obama's decision to attack Syria has not come out of nowhere. It results from a number of factors, from the point of view of the president of the United States, are as a last attempt to avoid unilateral hegemony of the American empire on the rest of the world.

I read that the five permanent members of the UN Security met on Wednesday at the Russian mission to the UN to study the objectives of a new resolution for the dismantling of Syrian chemical arsenal. The representatives left without comment, but there have been disputes over whether such a resolution would be binding, even with the use of military force. This is something that not all the United states agrees because they don´t want to use the military force because we all know that this smells like million of people dead...So... Barack Obama is trying to convince the Congress and the public of the need for limited military intervention in Syria, this is what he said on some interviews.

Although Obama is expected to use this interviews to argue that the international community can not leave unpunished the chemical weapons attack on August 21 and, according to the United States, was ordered by the regime of Bashar al-Assad and left a toll of 1,429 dead , 426 of them children.

But also the Syrian President Bashar al-Assad on Monday warned the U.S. to be prepare for "all" in case their forces conducted an attack against his regime....

In my opinion...
IS SAD THE TASK OF THE HUMAN SPECIES: kill each other, since the early ages  when they used stones and sticks but now they used smart weapons. I just say... Let´s pray for those innocent people around there.

Since in other competitions the climate was not an incidental factor: " The climate was about 10 degree and it did not concern ".

Referring to his own performance: " The major rival always is one itself and we go out well, always there are things that to improve ". The team of march will return to Spain, where it realizes the camp of training and later he will travel to Russia for the World championship.

The Question is:

MY EXPERIENCE :)

Two weeks ago I went to work in Anacafé with an agricultural engineer because next year I want to study agronomy in the Rafael Landivar University. All the seniors were working because it was to get an experience in the job we want to perform some day in the future after graduating.  Also because it is part of the senior´s pensum too. I like this activity because is a way to be more confident about the career we want to study. Also because is a way to not change career´s when we are in the middle of the semester like some of the people do.

My experience began working at the office of Anacafé on monday. In the office I got experience attending some clients who wanted the service of the engineer. This company focus on the lands of coffee of all Guatemala. Their are one of the most popular producers of the coffee we consume now on days. Actually the coffee of Guatemala is one of the top 10 in the whole world.
The second day I went to Escuintla with 14 more engineers of Anacafé. This engineers are part of the technical team of the company. We visited a land that is call " Finca San Antonio Las Lagunas" this land had a problem because they were having problems with mushrooms in their plants of coffee. This disease is call " La Roya" wich kills the plant and if one plant of coffee is infected it can infect the other ones in a short period of time. So my work was to help some guys to apply one new product call "verdadero" that helps the plant to prevent this disease.
The next day I went to a land call "Finca Fátima" that is located in Villa Canales. We went with the engineer to check how was the coffee production doing. This land was like we expected. All the problems it had they were not longer there. So we collected some of the coffee of the land that was already good. We made that  through all the land so we walked a lot!.
On Wednesday we went to another land call " Finca Buena Vista" this land was having other problems because the plant leaves were not growing up like it suppose to. We began walking through all the land and find out that it was cause by the lack of zinc and boro that helps the plant to mature in the correct way. So the engineer began to explain to the workers who are in charge of this land how to apply it without hurting the plant.
Then on Thursday we went to a land call " Finca San José Las Flores". This land was one of the biggest I have ever seen. It was located in Carretera al Salvador. This land was having problems with the weather because it was raining to much during several days and it affected many plants of coffee. This is an common problem but the weather is something we can´t control. The other thing was that it had the disease of Roya too. So we began applying the treatment for the plants. We spent a lot of time because it was a very big land.
And for last, on Friday I spent another day working at the office attending other clients.

At the end I liked the experience a lot, I can say that I also learned a lot about coffee. I like this career also because Guatemala is a beautiful place for producing food. I also like the idea of helping the economy of Guatemala by increasing the amount of exportation.

I LOVE MY FUTURE CAREER :)

Getting Used To Something New

Everyday, if you take a look in the newspaper,T.V, radio and other media you can find great quantity of bad news. Most of them are about violence, corruption and negative aspects of education, health and other topics.

Unfortunately, in our country, people get used to bad news because the media only focuses on transmitting bad or negative news instead of good and positive news. This might happen because we live in a country of poverty and slow development in which we tend to see only the bad side of things. People in Guatemala are so used to these kind of news that when they hear or see good news, they are not even surprised!

In our opinion, we think that the media should publish or broadcast more positive news. By doing this, people can open their eyes and that Guatemala has more to offer than just negative things. In consequence, people people would get used to good news, so when they see bad news they will want to do something to change the issue.

We also think that the government does not help to make any change in the country for people's needs because they are more focused on getting rich. So these bad decisions and actions get the media's attention and all they want to publish are these bad actions and decisions that were made instead of the good actions and decisions they make for Guatemala.

Lately, we can see that guatemalan sports occupy the first in Central America, Guatemala's tourism is one of the highest in Central America as well and we can also see that the communications ministry is worried about building new roads... the media should publish these type of news more often to let people see that we -as a country- have more potential that we normally think we have; we tend to underestimate Guatemala.

Getting used to good news will be a slow process, but it will be worth it. Changing the people's point of view about the country will create a positive effect because they will not only see the good in Guatemala, but everywhere and in any situation.

So in the end, publishing good news will make a radical change in people's way of thinking. They will have more hope in the country's development and they will see that Guatemala has more to offer.

Impossible is nothing :)

Katy Sullivan- Paralympic Athlete

http://www.youtube.com/watch?NR=1&v=r4RCXYCgf_Q&feature=endscreen

No words to describe how this amazing athlete has accomplish what others think it was impossible. She is an example of attitude unlike (contrast) the ones that give up at the very beginning. None of this was easy but (qualify) she demonstrates all the hard work and the good attitude she has. Obviously she has an enormous heart, surely (emphasize) nothing for her is impossible with positivism and hard work. She is a woman who we all have to admire, equally important (compare) as the blade runner who is a man that runs with the same conditions as her. In fact (explain) both of them are paralympic athletes who had won in various games of this type.

Of course (concede) she has been through into very difficult times, also (add) at the very beginning she didn´t have all the support from all the people in this sport Track and Field because not all of them believed in her. For instance (illustrate) she lost hope because she thought she was alone in this but her family, friends and her boyfriend supported her and gave her all the cheers to accomplish her dreams. In conclusion (conclude) she has no limits, she has accomplished what at the very beginning she thought it was impossible with her conditions. As a result (state of consequence) running is not a limitation for a woman with no legs, everything can be done if you give your best at all times.!!!

Clay Crown

The clay I made was inspired in the Egypt Queens. It is made without the hole in the middle because that´s what gives it resistance to any accident. My crown imparts beauty, splendor, honor and dignity. It shows the glory of power made it in a crown. Represents how do these queens used their intelligence and femininely to get what they wanted. I chose this crown for my pottery to represent that not only men can rule because the woman can be tough and strong too and sometimes they can rule in a better way. It also represents the beauty of Egypt because many societies around the world have adopted the queen as a symbol of true beauty.

I based this pottery in a story called "The Return of the Queen" to show how does the power of a queen worked in ancient times, in this case in Egypt. Also involves a little bit of the Gods who existed in those times and to make it more curious a little bit of my fantasy too :).

Ways to Learn :)

We all are different because we were created with different type of skills. That´s what make us unique and unrepeatable. There is no format to follow because it wouldn´t be effective with all of us. We learn in a different way. It depends also in our skills and pros. Learning does not happen all at once, but builds upon and is shaped by what we already know. Human learning may occur as part of education, personal development, schooling, or training. It may be goal-oriented and may be by motivation.

There are two types of learning or at least the most common. The ones that prefer to have a teacher and those who prefer study by their own. Learning by teaching should not be confused with presentations or lectures by students, as students not only convey a certain content, but also choose their own methods and didactic approaches in teaching classmates that subject. Neither should it be confused with tutoring, because the teacher has intensive control of, and gives support for, the learning process in learning by teaching as against other methods.

Unfortunately not all teachers are good role models. There are some teachers who do not set a good example for their students. When schools hire good teachers, all of the students who come in contact with him or her will benefit from it. Teachers are very helpful in many areas including communication, literacy and logistics. Good teachers are able to locate problems that children may be having in these areas.

There are more advantages of having a teacher instead of studying by their own. That is why I think it is more effective having a teacher. The world would be an empty place without them. It is because of teachers that many have learned how to write, play musical instruments, and many other qualities. Teachers help us to develop skills that we can use to move forward in our daily lives. They are also great figures for children who are not being raised by their biological parents. Teachers have the ability to make learning a fun experience.

Reality of young people in Guatemala

Now on days Guatemala, which is one of the most poor countries in the world, is suffering from all the corruption, poverty, malnutrition, insecurity, violence, and one of the most important aspects lack of education. We don´t choose in which type of family we will be born because is something more like heads or tails, it will depend on the circumstances we are gonna be and the skills we will adapt. Here in Guatemala 1 of 2 children is poor and have malnutrition, instead of having the right amount of vitamins, minerals and other nutrients. Other factor might be drugs, or a chemical substance, that is causing changes in behavior and often addiction to the youth Guatemalans and this affects their education and development.

This take us to a bigger problem....The 70% of the Guatemalans have less than 30 years old, so this tell us that we are a young generation. As a matter of fact, from 309,000 students only the 6% of them enter to collage, the other ones work in informal jobs or migrate to E.E.U.U because they don´t want to afront their reality in which they are living because the 59% of the victims of violence such as abuse, kidnapping, crimes, and murders are between the ages of 13 and 30 years old.
But I believe that we are more the ones that act for a change than the "lips that pray".

Corruption is the lack of integrity and honesty, something that we see a lot in our government without mention violence that is always creating internal fear in all the Guatemalans but at the same time this give us a reason to start making actions for the future. The ones that are not well prepare themselves in a 100% can´t link, or associate to the ways of development but then again, this is why the State has to give us education, health, security to generate, or produce possibilities to have a better human developoment, such as good standards of living and education. We are the Engine of Guatemala to start making changes but we can´t demand without giving!.

In conclusion we are the most young generation of all Central America and that is why we have to prepare ourselves to innovate, introduce something new, to the outside world creating opportunities for change but it all depends on us, making our best, doing everything we can because at least we will be satisfied knowing that we did everything we could for our country. :)

START WITH YOURSELF ;)
